Round Implants

Round Implants are round throughout and will maintain the same shape no matter which way they are turned. Thought rare, should it rotate inside its pocket beneath the breast, it will not appear distorted and retains its natural shape. Popular opinion holds that round implants give a more artificial look to a woman. However, this is untrue: the implant acts the same way human tissue would on the chest and looks completely natural. Keep in mind though that your anatomy makes the final determination on how you will look with breast implants.

Anatomical Implants

Though originating from development for total breast reconstruction, anatomical implants have recently been used for breast enhancement. It was created with a more natural looking implant in mind, with an oval shape in the front and significant more volume towards the bottom. Some claim that these implants mimic a natural breast more, but in all actuality there is not real advantage. The disadvantage results from the movement of the implant itself, though rare. Unlike a round implant, which if moved will return to its natural shape, an anatomical implant will be noticeable uneven. As a result of this problem, the surface of anatomical implants is usually slightly textured to give some semblance of traction and prevent movement.
